A Touch of Alaska

In August 2013 I made my first trip up to Alaska. My first flight was canceled which made the trip a bit more interesting, but after dealing with two customer service agents I was able to reschedule my flight and make it to Alaska.

Me and my Friend Jen while on the Susitna River

After arriving in Anchorage, my friend Jen picked me up at the airport and we headed to Talkeenta.  Talkeenta is a small town which sits right next to three rivers:  The Susitna, The Chulitna, and The Talkeenta Rivers.  It is also right near Mount Denali (McKinley) State Park.  Mount Denali's peak sits at about 18,000 feet and is considered the largest of any mountain situated entirely above sea level.  Needless to say, there were many opportunities to take photos.

Even though my trip was very short, I was able to go on a guided jet boat ride, eat breakfast at the famous Roadhouse Cafe, drink some great beers at the Denali Brewing Company, and even got to see and take pictures of Mount Denali.

Here are some photos from my trip, Enjoy
